What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you sign up for our newsletter the personal data that we collect form you, is your full name and email address. We will use this data to send you our newsletter with special offers, news about our products, and recipes.
When you sign up for a subscription for activated nuts, we collect your full name, mailing and billing address (in case they differ), email address and telephone number. We will use this data for communication related to your orders and for the delivery of your orders. Additionally, when you opt-in for it, we will send you our newsletter. In case you decide to unsubscribe our newsletter, we will delete your data from our mailing list.
We do NOT collect your debit or credit card information. All payments are processed through the online service payment providers GoCardless (if you choose to pay with direct debit https://gocardless.com/legal/privacy/ ) or Stripe (if you pay with credit card https://stripe.com/gb/privacy ) that we consider reliable business partners.
If you decide to cancel your nuts subscription we will delete your personal data after your last delivery has been sent out.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your name is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact forms
When using the contact form on our website we collect your full name and email address. We keep contact form submissions for customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes, unless you agree to be added to our mailing list.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
For website improvement and user experience tracking we use Google Analytics.

How long we retain your data
After you cancel your nuts subscription we will delete your data after your last order has been sent out.
Your data from newsletter subscription will be deleted after you let us know you’d like to unsubscribe it.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Our web hosting is provided by Site Ground, a GDPR compliant UK based company.
We keep our mailing list and send our newsletter through MailChimp, which is also GDPR compliant. The data is being transferred outside of the European Union, to the United States but it is safeguarded to the European data protection standards. If you want to be removed from the list you can contact us or just unsubscribe the newsletter through the button provided.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
